Addicted to: Sweet Potato Tots at Eleven
I love sweet potato fries and I love tater tots, so this marriage of the two is like a magical gift from the food gods. Crunchy fried potato goodness, now offered daily on the new happy hour menu at Eleven. You can read more about the revamped menu in my story in this week's Alive. Anybody know who else has sweet potato tots in Columbus? A quick Google search told me Two Mad Dogs in Powell, but...See More

Photos: Weenies hot dogs
Checked out the new hot dog place on Campus, Weenies, for lunch today with some coworkers. They're really talking up their Ohio-made meats, which are admittedly quite tasty. The deal is you pick a dog (classic all-beef, Hottie Spicy Pork & Beef, all-beef brat, all-beef cheese brat, chicken dog, veggie dog or 1-pound dog) and then pick your toppings. What to eat at: ComFest
Happy ComFest weekend! Every festival has its own food niche, and ComFest's is definitely earthy. It's best to just embrace your inner hippie and go for the healthy stuff. I scoped out the food booths around Goodale Park earlier today, and found a few can't-miss food picks. Dragonfly's booth was a definite favorite. Everything on the vegan restaurant's menu sounded (and looked) delicious. I tri...See More

Taste Test: Yabo's Tacos
Apparently this is a tacos kind of week for me. I'd been hearing buzz about a new taco place out in Westerville, Yabo's Tacos. They've been open a week, and their shtick is $2 tacos and $1 "retro beers" (think PBR) of the day. Sold! The Baja-style tacos can be ordered with your choice of a bunch of different scratch-made fillings: charbroiled chicken, slow-roasted shredded pork shoulder, slow-r...See More
