Update: We just got word that the scheduled shoot at noon Saturday for That Food Truck has been moved to the St. James Tavern. The post below reflects that change.
We've given plenty of love to our local food-truck scene, and the producers of Food Network Canada show "Eat St." have taken notice. They'll be in town to film a Columbus episode of their street-eat-centric TV show starting Saturday, and they've tapped six local trucks to make a TV-star turn.
It's not just a fantastic opportunity for the trucks to promote themselves. It's also an opportunity for dedicated eaters to make their debut on screen, as each truck is hoping to draw a serious crowd on their filming day. Ready for your close-up? The "Eat St." producers let us know when they'll be shooting and looking for members of the public to chow down. (Hint: want a better chance at making the final cut? Clear your schedule for one of the weekday lunch shoots.)
Noon Saturday: That Food Truck at St. James Tavern, 1057 N. Fourth St., Short North
2 p.m. Sunday: Paddy Wagon at Little Rock Bar, 944 N. Fourth St., Short North
Noon Monday: Green Meanie at Dinin' Hall, 400 W. Rich St., Franklinton
4 p.m. Tuesday: Ajumama at Zauber Brewing, 909 W. Fifth Ave., Grandview
Noon Wednesday: The Coop, 2701 Indianola Ave., Clintonville
Noon Thursday, October 10: Challah! at Dinin' Hall
All you'll need to do is show up, place an order, bite down and share your thoughts (all on camera, of course.) You can read a primer on the experience here. And don't worry: even though it's a Food Network Canada show, the episodes air on the Cooking Channel here in the US.
